Morning Song (S.Palmer) In the morning I think of you And I wonder If you feel it too Do you wake up in the cold of night Do you walk about until it’s light? (Instr) Am I just a part of yesterday? Part of all you’ve left along the way? From my window please fly my bird With a ribbon and these few words With a ribbon and these few words

ROLL AWAY YOUR BLUES When the sun comes up And your world’s spinnin’ round and round And you’re on your own And your friend’s just can’t be found When you feel a little down And you need someone to care Just think of me You know that I’ll be there Ch: We’re gonna roll away your blues It takes a good friend to change your point of view And you need a little rain before the sun breaks through We’re gonna roll up our sleeves Find a new attitude We’re gonna roll away those blues Won’t you sit down, honey You’re wearing out that floor And I’ll listen real good Like I haven’t heard it all before Kick your shoes off baby You know that I don’t bite And we’ve got all day Even if it takes all night Ch: We’re gonna roll away your blues It takes a good friend to change your point of view And you need a little rain before the sun breaks through We’re gonna roll up our sleeves Find a new attitude We’re gonna roll away those blues

Mille Après Mille (Gerald Joly/Engish Translation S.Palmer) My life is a long endless highway And I can’t really say where I'm bound Tho I drift thru your towns and your cities I’ll search ‘til my destiny is found Mille après mille je suis triste Mille après mille je m'ennuie Jour après jour sur la route Tu n'peux pas savoir comme j'peux t'aimer This road that I’m on seems so endless Each step that I take seems in vain I still see your face, how it haunts me and I wish I’d had a reason to stay Mille après mille je suis triste…. One day, when my journeys will have ended one day when my destiny comes true There in the peace that I dream of You’ll tell me my searching is through Mille après mille je suis triste… Mile after mile I’m still lonely Mile after mile I’m still blue Day after day on this highway You won’t know how much I love you You won’t know how much I love you Tu n'peux pas savoir comme j'peux t'aimer
5.
RIDING WITH THE GHOSTS (S H Palmer) A prairie sky with a million stars One for every mile on this old car The night is cold, this road is long But I’ll just keep on driving on Like an old Hank Williams song Down this lost Highway I can see the Ghosts out on this highway They talk to me as the miles go by They’re not quite real I know just how that feels To be fading away on this road tonight Louis Riel- had a story to tell Him and my old man Would’ve got on well Poundmaker and the Buffalo They belong to long ago But for one moment more they’ll glow Beneath a starry sky CH: I can see the Ghosts out on this highway They talk to me as the miles go by They’re not quite real I know just how they feel To be fading away on this road tonight Tag: Shades of you and me And all the things that might have been I can see the Ghosts on this road tonight I’m Riding with Ghosts on this road tonight

ROLL ON SASKATCHEWAN- STOMPIN' TOM CONNORS Let my heart sing an old river song As we journey back where I belong Where the wind comes to say To the river each day- Roll on, roll on Saskatchewan -From the wheatfields of my heart Go find your way to the cool Hudson Bay Roll on, roll on Saskatchewan Oh river please whisper my prayer Tell Mom and Dad I still care Leave the tear that I cry On the shore where they lie Roll on, roll on Saskatchewan -From the wheatfields of my heart Go find your way to the cool Hudson Bay Roll on, roll on Saskatchewan

Teardrops fell on Mama's note As I read the words she wrote She said 'We miss you son, We love you, come on home" I didn't need to pack All I owned was on my back Now I'm 500 miles away from home - Away from home, away from home Cold and tired and on my own Now I'm 500 miles away from home This raod that i went down Sure looks different to me now And I guess I look a little different too But time changes everything And i wond what they'll say When they see their boy alookin' this a-way -This a-way, this a-way I wonder what they'll say When they see their boy alookin' this a-way Not a shirt on my back Not a penny to my name I can't go back home this a-way Can't remember when I ate It's just thumb and walk and wait I'm still 500 miles away from home - Away from home, away from home I'm out here on my own I'm still 500 miles away from home - Away from home, away from home Cold and tired and on my own Now I'm 500 miles away from home

STORM COMIN’ IN (S.Palmer) There’s a storm comin’ in Better come inside There’s a storm comin’ in Better come inside There’s a storm comin’ in Better come inside There’s a dark cloud a’comin’ I heard my sister cry Dark cloud a’comin’ I heard my sister cry Dark cloud a’comin’ Fillin' up the sky Wind from the East It’ll catch you by surprise There’s a dark cloud comin’ Fillin’ up the sky Wind is a’risin’ Find somewhere to hide I can hear my Mama callin Hear my sister cry There’s a storm comin’ in Better come inside… Voices on the wind I heard them call my name Voices on the wind Callin' out my name There's a voice on the wind I heard it call my name

Dreams Are Silver- S.Palmer 1. Dreams are Silver, dreams are gold The one you share or the one you hold Do you wish you may, Do you wish you might Find a dream to share on a starry night Such a dream might come to you at dawn But when you wake to hold it close You find that it is gone Well if your dreams have left you now Never to come true Darlin’ have a little Of this dream I’ve saved for you 2. Love is gentle, love is kind In a heart like yours or a heart like mine If you made a wish on a rainy day Would you wish for love to never fade away You might place it in a cage of gold Just to find that gentle love Has spread it’s wings and flown Well if your love has left you now Never to be true Darlin’ help yourself To the love I’ve saved for you Tag: Well if it seems that Love’s a dream Never to come true Darlin’ don’t forget This love I’ve saved for you

When summertime is gone and leaves begin to fall You can sing this song and say to one and all: -You are my flower, blooming on the mountain top so high You are my flower, blooming there for me The grass is just as green, the sky is just as blue The day is just as bright and the birds are singing too -You are my flower, blooming on the mountain top so high You are my flower, blooming there for me So wear a happy smile and life will be worthwhile Forget the tears but don't forget to smile -You are my flower, blooming on the mountain top so high You are my flower, blooming there for me

Sweet As Sweet (S.Palmer) I kinda like the way she calls me Honey When She’s the sweetest thing around If I ever make a little money Gonna take her out on the town Sweet as sweet Sweet as anyone can be And I know she’s sweet on me Sweet as sweet Anyone around can see- She’s got all the love I’ll ever need And I know she’s sweet on me I used to hang around that candy counter Over at Mr. Lee’s Confectionery Now I tell ‘em they can lock their doors I won’t be comin’ round no more She’s got all the sugar that I’ll ever need Sweet as sweet... Bridge: Spread a little Love and Sunshine Shine a little Light on this life of mine Spread a little Love on me... Sweet as sweet Anyone around can see She’s got all the love I’ll ever need’ She’s got all the love and I do believe This girl is sweet on me I kinda like the way she calls me honey....

Just Another Song- S.Palmer Just another song To see us homeward Just another dream on the radio So many miles for us to travel Just another song will see us through And the moon shines down like silver And the stars shine down on us forever Just another song to sing It will light us on our way Just another song on the radio. Hang in there Hang in there Don't you worry 'bout what's coming It'a a long cold night It's a long cold night But don't you worry Don't you worry 'bout tomorrow We'll be safe and warm by the morning light

about

Steven Palmer & Guests
‘Prairie Airs’
With a voice like a “warm Blanket on a cold night” Steven Palmer is back again with his 4th recording project, a labour of love he calls ‘Prairie Airs”. Recorded in the prairie towns of Edmonton and Winnipeg in the summer of 2013, this album features some of the finest talent to be found West of the Great Lakes. 14 songs, 8 Steve Palmer originals and 6 old time favourites including the Stompin’ tom classic Saskatchewan Roll On, and Quebecois country superstar Willie Lamothe’s ‘Mille Apres Mille’.
Originally from Edmonton Steven Palmer is now based in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, a town described by Peter Gzowski as ‘The most Canadian of all cities”. His touring schedule includes the four Prairie provinces and is now expanding to include US and Eastern Canadian dates.

about

Stephen Hardy Palmer Gatineau, Québec

‘There are miles in Palmer’s voice; you can almost see the scenery that his mind has captured through the decades of his life. Palmer’s songwriting and guitar playing are tasteful and bittersweet, his music is crafted with feeling and poetic flair. I’m reminded of another acoustic icon, Gordon Lightfoot.”- TwangTown Magazine ... more
